Sunny Side Up Emotional Support Chickens for all……

" Sunny Side Up Support”— An Artistic Celebration of Diversity and Comfort. Creating these feathers of fancy has been a journey of joy and discovery for me.

Spanning a compact 6x6 inches, these vibrant and engaging artworks are on cradled board using acrylics. It's a spirited departure from my typical landscapes, a dive into the whimsical world of chickens and roosters.

This collection contains unique depictions of chicken or rooster heads. I wanted each bird to tell its own story, so I took liberty in exploring a dynamic range of artistic styles and patterns. They boast distinct colours, textures, and designs, showcasing diversity and individuality. From solid backgrounds to intricate patterns—and even the luxurious touch of gold leaf—every detail is crafted to enhance the visual appeal and elevate the humble chicken.

I was inspired to create Sunny Side Support after joining an enthusiastic Facebook group dedicated to chickens. Their passion and dedication ignited a spark within me to celebrate these wonderful creatures in my art. Adding gold foil was a deliberate choice, a nod to the iconography that uplifts and honors these magnificent birds.

Initially, I painted these delightful chickens for outdoor markets this summer, including the Rosebud Festival on July 13 and August 25th. The response has been incredibly encouraging; they've been swiftly purchased by clients who see them and fall in love with their charm.

Chickens can provide more than visual pleasure—they offer emotional support and comfort, making them delightful companions in times of stress. Whether you need one or a flock, their soothing presence brings joy and tranquility to any environment. The playful demeanor and unique personalities of these birds can brighten your day and provide a sense of grounding and affection.

For me, it served as a playful respite from my usual focus on landscape painting. It brought a sense of whimsy and refreshment to my routine, allowing me to explore new realms of creativity and have fun with my art.

This one day Makers Fair features all sorts of handmade objects made by Alberta Artisans. The picturesque town of Rosebud is a great destination for a Saturday drive. Its a one day sale only. Hope to see you there!
